My name is Jessica, and I was fortunate to grow up in the beautiful State of Maine. My childhood home was surrounded by natural beauty and the artwork of God’s hand in abundance. As a child, I spent a lot of time enjoying the rustic beauty of the north woods with my father. My mother's love was for the ocean, and because she was often drawn to the sea, our family spent many weekends picnicking on the breathtaking coastlines. Growing up surrounded by such incredible beauty inspired me to start exploring art as a child. I found my passion in paint as a young adult, but as with many artists, I put myself and my artwork on hold for over a decade as I tended to the necessities of life.
The passion I once had for my artwork has recently been renewed, and it has taken on a life of its own. I have found that my style is unique. My pieces often have a whimsical or dreamlike feel, as each one is created from its own inspiration. As I am creating it, I allow the painting to speak to me. Each one whispers a story and becomes what it wants to be. I work mostly in acrylics, but I don't limit myself as sometimes a canvas will call out for a mix of different mediums.
